Can foreigners rent a printer in Korea?
Usually yes, though the conditions are set by each rental company rather than by one national rule. Most will look for an ARC and a Korean bank account or card in your own name, and some also consider how much of your stay is left. Business rentals under a company name are common in this category and are handled differently from personal ones. Treat all of it as something to confirm during consultation rather than assume in advance.
Does the rental include toner, ink and repairs?
Do not assume it does. What is included varies by listing and by rental company, and consumables are the most common point of difference — a laser machine's toner and an ink-tank machine's refills are priced very differently over a year. A few listings state toner in the product name; most do not state anything either way. Ask specifically what happens when the toner runs out and who pays for a repair visit, and get the answer before you sign rather than after.
Should I rent a laser printer or a colour ink-tank one?
It depends on what you actually print. Mono laser suits documents: it is fast, the toner does not dry out if you print nothing for six weeks, and per-page cost is low — which matters if your printing is mostly forms and contracts. Refillable ink-tank machines make more sense if you print in colour regularly, such as photos or teaching materials. All-in-one units add a scanner, which is the part most people underestimate: a lot of Korean paperwork asks you to send a scanned copy back rather than a photo.
What if I move house or leave Korea before the term ends?
Moving within Korea is normally an address change reported to the rental company, though the machine's weight means delivery arrangements are worth asking about in advance. Ending early is the part to plan for: the contract length and any early-termination charge are set by each rental company, and SETKORA is not the contracting party.
