대체로 가능하지만 조건은 렌탈사마다 다릅니다. 외국인등록증과 남은 체류 기간을 보는 곳이 많고, 국내 휴대폰 번호나 계좌를 요구하는 곳도 있습니다. 회사마다 기준이 달라서 계약 전 상담에서 확인해 드립니다. SETKORA는 통신판매중개자로 렌탈사와의 계약을 중개할 뿐, 계약 당사자가 아닙니다.
IH와 압력, 뭐가 다른가요?
압력 방식은 1기압보다 높은 상태에서 취사해 밥이 부드럽고 윤기가 돌며, 현미·잡곡·콩도 속까지 익습니다. 한국 가정에서 가장 흔한 방식입니다. IH는 바닥 열판이 아니라 내솥 둘레를 유도가열해서 열이 고르게 퍼지고 보온·재가열이 안정적입니다. 쿠쿠·쿠첸 주력 모델은 두 방식을 함께 쓰는 경우가 많습니다. 반대로 고슬고슬한 밥을 좋아한다면 압력이 아닌 모델이 더 맞을 수 있습니다.
설치가 필요한가요? 원룸에는 몇 인용이 맞나요?
설치는 없습니다. 220V 콘센트에 꽂으면 끝이라 집 앞 배송으로 마무리됩니다. 크기는 인용수로 나뉘는데 6인용이 가정용 표준이고 좁은 원룸 상판에도 대체로 올라갑니다. 10인용은 폭과 높이가 눈에 띄게 커집니다. 원룸은 따로 치워 둘 수납장이 없는 경우가 많으니, 상판에서 내줄 자리를 먼저 재보고 고르세요.
이사하거나 한국을 일찍 떠나게 되면요?
밥솥은 옮기기 쉬워서 국내 이사는 렌탈사에 주소 변경을 알리는 선에서 끝나는 경우가 많습니다. 중도 해지는 다릅니다 — 약정 기간과 해지 조건이 렌탈사·상품마다 달라서, 계약 전에 이 두 가지를 반드시 확인해야 합니다. 상담에서 해당 렌탈사 기준을 확인해 드립니다.
Can foreigners rent a rice cooker in Korea?
Usually yes, but the conditions are set by each rental company, not by us. Most look at your ARC (residence card) and how much of your stay is left; some also ask for a Korean phone number or bank account. Because the requirement differs by company, it is confirmed during the consultation before anything is signed. SETKORA is a rental broker — we arrange the contract between you and the rental company and are not the contracting party.
IH or pressure — which type should I pick?
A pressure cooker cooks above normal atmospheric pressure, so the rice turns out softer and glossier, and brown rice, mixed grains and beans actually cook through. That is what most Korean households use. IH means the inner pot is heated by an induction coil around the pot rather than by a plate underneath, so heating is more even and the keep-warm and reheat modes hold up better. Many Cuckoo and Cuchen models are both. If you prefer firm, separate grains — jasmine or basmati style — a non-pressure model may suit you better.
Is installation needed, and what size fits a one-room?
No installation. A rice cooker plugs into an ordinary Korean 220V outlet, so delivery to your door is the whole process. Sizes are quoted in servings: a 6-serving model is the household standard and generally fits even a narrow one-room counter, while a 10-serving model is noticeably wider and taller. One-rooms rarely have a spare cabinet to store it in, so measure the counter space you can give up before choosing.
What if I move, or leave Korea before the contract ends?
A rice cooker is easy to carry, so moving within Korea usually means reporting the new address to the rental company. Leaving Korea early is a different matter: contract length and early-termination charges vary by rental company and by product. Ask about both during the consultation, before signing — we will get the company's answer in your language.
