Renting Samsung Appliances in Korea: What to Know First

Samsung is the widest single brand in our rental catalogue, and its line-up leans in a different direction from LG's. This guide covers what is actually available, the contract length you should expect, the price spread, and one thing the monthly fee does not include. Figures are counted from our own catalogue as of July 2026 and shift as stock changes.

This is about renting Samsung products through Korean rental companies. It is not a product review and does not describe Samsung's warranty terms — ask the manufacturer or the rental company about those.

What the Samsung rental catalogue covers

Our catalogue lists 413 Samsung items, weighted toward home living rather than kitchen:

• Home living (167 items) — air conditioners (34), TVs (22), vacuums (22), washers (21), dryers (18), clothing-care cabinets (18). This is the largest group and the clearest difference from LG.
• Kitchen (122) — dishwashers (31), fridges (28), microwaves and ovens (17), kimchi fridges (15).
• Bundles (88) — several products under one agreement.
• Hobby and mobility (21), commercial & B2B (10), air & water (5).

If your apartment came empty and summer is coming, the living group is where to look — air conditioners alone account for 34 items. The cheapest entries are small kitchen items: a 23L Bespoke microwave at about ₩5,500/month and a 23L grill microwave at about ₩5,600/month.

The price range has a long tail — read the median

Monthly fees across Samsung items run from ₩5,500 to ₩213,400, with a median of about ₩49,200. The top of that range is large premium equipment, not something a resident would put in a one-room apartment, so the range is close to useless as a planning number.

Use the median as your anchor and price the specific items you need. A realistic first-home setup is a few items in the ₩10,000–₩60,000 band each, not one item at the top of the range.

344 of the 413 Samsung items carry a partner-card discount price — about eight in ten. That discount depends on meeting a monthly card-spending condition; if you cannot meet it, the standard fee applies, so compare standard fees when deciding. Almost everything is a 60-month contract

Samsung's rental terms are more uniform than LG's. In our catalogue:

• 60 months — 394 items
• 36 months — 14 items
• 48 months — 4 items
• 59 months — 1 item

That means 95% of Samsung items are five-year agreements, and shorter terms are the exception rather than something you can request. If your visa, lease or job contract is shorter than five years, bring it up in the consultation before applying — what happens if you leave Korea mid-contract depends on the specific rental company's terms, and we will not guess them for you.

Rental companies also commonly ask about remaining period of stay when a foreign resident applies. That is a normal part of the review, not a rejection.

Where Samsung tends to make sense

Based on what is actually in the catalogue rather than brand preference:

• Air conditioning — 34 items, the largest single product group outside bundles. Relevant because most Korean rentals do not include one and buying plus installation is a large upfront cost.
• Dishwashers — 31 items, more than most brands offer in rental, and more than we list for any other brand. Worth knowing if your kitchen has no space plumbed for one; installation is arranged as part of delivery.
• Clothing-care cabinets — 18 items. A Korean-market appliance most new arrivals have never used and many end up wanting.
• Small kitchen items — the cheapest way to start, if you want to see how a rental agreement works before committing to a large item.

The fee covers the appliance, not a cleaning service

This is worth stating plainly because it differs from the water-purifier rentals people hear about first. None of the 413 Samsung items in our catalogue lists a scheduled maintenance or cleaning visit. What they list is a free-repair period: most commonly one year, and for 77 items five years while the contract is kept in good standing.

So a Samsung rental is closer to "pay monthly instead of upfront, with repairs covered for a period" than to a managed service. Delivery and installation are still arranged as part of the rental.
